About Hotels.Online Singapore

Back in 1997, there are no web sites providing comprehensive hotel listings to the general web users. All available sites merely list the hotel names with addresses, most do not even provide contact numbers to the hotels.

Hotels.Online Singapore was an idea started by our CEO/Managing Consultant of Online Technology, Mr Eddie Teo, who saw the lack of proper hotel listings and information web sites to the hotels of Singapore.

Hotels.Online Singapore was then started in Feb/Mar 1998, being the first site in the world to provide comprehensive hotel listing and information to hotels in Singapore.

In a short space of a few months, Hotels.Online Singapore won several awards and got featured in CNBC's Dot.Commerce programme, and was the recommended hotel guide web site to Singapore hotels in many web sites from all over the world. She also received her 10,000 unique visitors in Oct 1998.

The growth and popularity of Hotels.Online Singapore grew and due to many requests from visitors to Hotels.Online Singapore and hotel operators in Singapore, in Feb 1999, Hotels.Online Singapore started accepting hotel rooms booking and reservations via the web site.

Popularity grew further and Hotels.Online Singapore received over 57,000 unique visitors by year end 1999, making it one of the most, if not the most, visited Singapore Hotels web sites in the world.

By end-2000, the number of visitors grew to over 116,000, not counting those who visited Hotels.Online Singapore via the non-standard entry pages (for example, our search page is linked by many sites around the world, and receives hundreds of unique visitors daily, and we did not count those!).
